I love Spearfish Canyon! Every time I think I have seen ever beautiful thing it has to offer Mother Nature gives me another great opportunity. One evening a couple weeks ago leaving the lodge just at dark I saw a Mountain Lion heading down Victoria Lane. Actually I just got a glimpse of her magnificent eyes, I backed up turned down the road and was completely mesmerized watching three young cubs play! To my delight they tackled each other pulled tails and completely enjoyed the opportunity for fun. The mother sat by waiting, watching she let out a low growl and as suddenly as the play began it was over and they disappeared into the night. I hope you too will drive the canyon and learn all her amazing secrets!
