SD Trip

Author: Linda

Last week I had the pleasure of traveling to Sioux Falls for the annual sports show. Leaving the beautiful black hills to the awesome badlands and then on to the prairie is simply a great experience for me. It helps you to remember what makes this State the best. Over the years that I have made this trip I always stop some place that I have not been. Along the I-90 Corridor there are many unique places with lots to see and do. Of course my first stop is for a traditional chocolate frosted doughnut at Wall Drug. Then on to Kadoka home of the Petrified Forest which is very neat. Next on my list is Murdo with their Pioneer Auto Museum; with lots of old cars and family style restaurants. When I finally make it to the river I must have some of Al’s Oasis pie and coffee! I also love all the antique shops there! Mitchell is a drive downtown to see what the Corn Place has done for the year. Finally on to Sioux Falls with fabulous shopping and great food. On my return trip this year I also stopped in White Lake what a wonderful old main street area-I bought a birthday card for .38! There are so many other great sites the ghost town at Belvidere, the Old West town and the Cactus Flats no wonder it takes me 8 hours to make this 6 hour drive! But it is so worth it! Are you looking to vacation this summer? Try your own back yard! I can make your driver even better contact me for any stay any day only $69 standard room(as with any offer some restrictions apply based on availability)!

The Log of Blog

Hi to all,

Welcome to the “log of blog” from Linda at the lodge!  In this blog you will meet some of my team.  You will also soon realize that I will always have a special offer somewhere in my comments.

Alicia Petz, Sales Manager, she’s the one next to her closest companion Buffy.  Alicia has been with my team for one year!  She does a super job and I am extremely happy to have her.

Lindsy Tieman, Operations Manager, the one with long black hair has worked here longer than I!!! She is starting her eighth year!  She is truly my right hand and I would not be able to operate with out her.

Linda Ahlers (me) General Manger the one that looks like Gomer Pyle!

If you have not taken a trip to the canyon this winter let me prod you a little as it is amazing!! It will take you about 5 miles before you will start to see the effects of  a 150 inch base of snow!  Right around the corner from Bridal Veil Falls is what we call Mr. Dog tooth and if you are driving in the moon light the formation gives off a beautiful blue luster.  Take your time as there are so many areas with ice formations that most people miss.

Oh by the way March madness is coming and as you see in our picture you must grab a friend and go on a Mad outing!!  Stay one night in March or April and get the second free. Use discount code MAR141 when you CONTACT ME and I will make it happen for you!!
